Counter Sinking
Screws
The new R4 screw with
countersinking cutters eliminates this separate process completely.
Because the countersink cutting screw creates its own countersink
hole, it can be used for any material without pre-countersinking.
The screw has 6 cutting
pockets which also work as supporting edges for the head. When using
the screw the cutting pockets create the countersinking and cut into
the material. At the same time the supporting edges have a
stabilizing effect. When fastening fittings, these supporting edges
rest on the pre-formed countersunk holes and avoid material damage.
-
The six self
countersinking cutting pockets act like a circular saw blade.
-
They transport the
"drill-dust" away from the edge of the screw hole.
-
They also widen the
countersink hole only around the head shape.
-
The screw head top
closes the hole exactly leaving no damaged fibers around the
head.
The countersink cutting
screw can be used in all woodworking and plastic applications and
because the head is 90 degrees angle at the underside, the screw
fits perfectly into the pre-countersunk holes of hardware fittings
such as hinges or locks. Stocking of different screws is no longer
necessary. It makes the R4 a very versatile screw.
The countersinking gets
even better the harder the material. No build up occurs around the
countersinking area as the ribs push abraded material away from
below the screw head and the material can be compacted tightly
together into the space between the cutting-edges.
